WIRE: Wildlife Including Rehabilitation and Education
Caring for Cambridgeshire's Wildlife. Inspiring the Next Generation.
Every year, injured and orphaned wildlife across Cambridgeshire need somewhere to turn. Cambridgeshire WIRE rescues, rehabilitates and releases native animals back into the wild, and works alongside schools, families and local communities to help people understand and protect the wildlife on their doorstep. Rescue and education go hand in hand here, caring for an animal today and inspiring someone to care about wildlife for life are, to us, the same job.

Wildlife Rehabilitation
From injured hedgehogs to orphaned owl chicks, we care for sick, hurt and abandoned wildlife until they're strong enough to go home. Every animal is treated with the aim of one outcome: a safe return to the wild.

We visit schools, run family sessions and work with community groups across Cambridgeshire, turning curiosity about local wildlife into lifelong care for it.

Every donation goes straight towards food, veterinary care, fuel for rescues and the day to day cost of keeping an animal rescue running. No amount is too small.

Chris is the main point of contact for Cambridgeshire WIRE, with just a small team supporting her. She works with local wildlife trusts, zoos and other contacts, but always needs more help closer to home. Register your interest for your town or village.
